The recent news that Sanofi-Aventis’s cabazitaxel significantly improved overall survival in the second-line, metastatic prostate cancer setting compared with mitoxantrone (EMD Serono/Pfizer/Meda’s Novantrone/generics) will have a dramatic impact on the prostate cancer drug market. Following cabazitaxel’s launch, Sanofi-Aventis will dominate the cytotoxic chemotherapeutic space in metastatic prostate cancer as cabazitaxel will be used sequentially with Sanofi-Aventis’s currently-marketed first-line agent, Taxotere.
This 15-minute analyst call, presented by Analyst Andrew Merron, Ph.D., will answer the following questions:
- How will the launch and uptake of cabazitaxel affect the sales of currently available prostate cancer therapies?
- What is Decision Resources’ updated forecast for cabazitaxel and for the overall prostate cancer drug market?
- What is the role of chemotherapy in prostate cancer and how does cabazitaxel’s novel mechanism of action make it one of the most promising agents in development?
- What are the unmet needs that cabazitaxel will address and what factors will drive and/or constrain its uptake?
Dr. Merron will conduct a live Q & A session after the presentation.
