Earlier this month, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Genentech/Roche's Actemra for use in adults with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis who have had an inadequate response to other therapies. As a result, rheumatoid arthritis is now the first approved indication for Actemra in the U.S. Actemra will benefit from a strong efficacy profile and a fast onset of action and, as previously forecasted by Decision Resources, the agent will achieve blockbuster sales in 2018. Additionally, Actemra’s U.S. launch not only further fragments the rheumatoid arthritis biologics landscape but presents a formidable challenger to Bristol-Myers Squibb’s Orencia and Genentech/Roche’s Rituxan and, ultimately, Actemra could erode share of the TNF-alpha inhibitors.
This 15-minute analyst call, presented by Analyst Kyle Crowell, will answer the following questions:
- Which currently available therapies are at the most risk of losing market share to Actemra? Specifically, how will Actemra’s approval in the U.S. impact the market share of key biologics in the rheumatoid arthritis market?
- For which patient populations will surveyed physicians prescribe Actemra in the next 12 months and how do they expect their use of Actemra to evolve and expand with first-hand experience and the availability of postmarketing data?
- What affect will the launch and uptake of Actemra have on the overall rheumatoid arthritis market?
Mr. Crowell will conduct a live Q & A session after the presentation.
