Clinical trial data regarding Roche/Genentech/Chugai’s Avastin that was presented earlier this month at the 2010 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting confirms Decision Resources’ forecast for this key agent in the gastric cancer drug market. Additionally, in response to the European approval and market entry of Roche/Genentech/Chugai’s Herceptin, a HER2-directed therapeutic agent, we have segmented the unresectable gastric cancer patient population by HER2 status in order to better shape our market forecast for this indication. The rapid and widespread uptake of Herceptin and the emergence of four targeted therapies will drive the gastric cancer drug market to more than double to $1.5 billion from 2009 to 2019.
This 15-minute analyst call, presented by Decision Resources Analyst Rachel Webster, D.Phil., will answer the following questions:
- What will be the impact of emerging targeted therapies on the dynamics of specific population segments of the gastric cancer market? Which of these will achieve the most success in this indication?
- How does the data that was presented at ASCO regarding Avastin impact Decision Resources’ gastric cancer drug market forecast and how will this new data influence physician opinion for other angiogenic inhibitors in this market?
- What will be the primary drivers of market growth in gastric cancer though 2019?
- In the world’s major pharmaceutical markets, what is Decision Resources’ sales forecast through 2019 for key targeted therapies in gastric cancer?
Dr. Webster will conduct a live Q & A session after the presentation.
