Owing to multiple first-in-class entries of emerging therapies, the prostate cancer drug market will grow to more than $8.4 billion in 2019. The primary driver of market growth will be the novel therapeutic vaccine, Dendreon’s Provenge. Also contributing to market expansion will be the recently approved next-generation taxane, Sanofi-Aventis’s Jevtana. This presentation will also highlight emerging therapies that have recently entered Phase III clinical development, such as OncoGenex/Teva’s custirsen.
Compared with many oncology indications, the prostate cancer drug market is particularly dynamic and has a rich late-stage emerging pipeline with 15 emerging therapies currently pre-registered or in Phase III clinical development. Using 2009 as a base year, our Prostate Cancer advisory service findings have been updated with recently released data and revised epidemiological assumptions. The service provides thought-leaders’ opinions on key clinical unmet needs, our assumptions behind current clinical practice and emerging trends in disease management.
This 15-minute analyst call, presented by Analyst Andrew Merron, Ph.D., will answer the following questions:
- Which emerging therapies for prostate cancer are expected to launch through 2019 and what are thought-leaders’ opinions of these agents?
- Which drug classes are forecasted to be most successful and what will be the primary drivers and constrainers of growth in this indication over the next decade?
- How will clinical management of prostate cancer change through 2019?
Dr. Merron will conduct a live Q & A session after the presentation.
