The prostate cancer drug market is set to experience significant growth over the next decade, with sales of therapies to treat the disease expected to exceed $10 billion in 2020. The launch of nine emerging therapies that span a variety of drug classes will drive this robust growth. Decision Resources’ analysis of the prostate cancer drug market provides clinically and commercially relevant drug-treatable populations that reflect real clinical scenarios. Definitive primary treatment (such as surgery, radiotherapy and/or hormonal treatment) is fundamental to the management of prostate cancer and response to that treatment is critically important for determining a patient’s clinical state and future treatment. These clinical considerations are integral to the formation of our drug-treatable populations.

With all but one emerging therapy expected to penetrate the metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) setting, this will become an increasingly crowded and competitive space. However, considerable opportunity will remain for therapies entering the mCRPC setting to penetrate more lucrative earlier-stage disease settings.

This 15-minute analyst call, presented by Analyst Rachel Webster, D.Phil., will answer the following questions:

  • What are the drug-treatable populations included in our market and how are they defined? How are these commercially relevant patient populations derived and how does patient flow help to formulate these populations?
  • In regard to the overall prostate cancer drug market, which drug-treatable populations will be the most lucrative and which hold the most opportunity for developers?
  • In which drug-treatable populations does Decision Resources expect key emerging therapies to be positioned in and what will be the market impact of these agents?

Dr. Webster will conduct a live Q & A session after the presentation.
