Given the poor prognosis and significant unmet need for new treatment options, ovarian cancer has become an increasing focus for research and development by drug manufacturers. Earlier this month, the much anticipated Phase III clinical trial results of Roche/Genentech/Chugai’s Avastin in ovarian cancer were presented at the 2010 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) general meeting, highlighting the agent’s potential in the first-line ovarian cancer setting. In light of these and previously published data, Decision Resources anticipates that Avastin will be the first ever targeted therapy to enter the ovarian cancer market in 2011. Further encouraging data in ovarian cancer presented at ASCO, including results of Eisai’s farletuzumab, AstraZeneca’s olaparib, Amgen’s AMG-386 and Sunesis’ voreloxin, suggest further dramatic change within the ovarian cancer treatment landscape is imminent.
This 15-minute analyst call, presented by Decision Resources Analyst Niamh Murphy, Ph.D., will answer the following questions:
- What do interviewed experts consider about the potential for bevacizumab in ovarian cancer?
- What other novel agents are likely to enter the ovarian cancer market within the next ten years?
- What is Decision Resources’ sales forecast in the world’s major markets through 2018 for bevacizumab and other novel agents in ovarian cancer?
Dr. Murphy will conduct a live Q & A session following the presentation.
