Strategic Assessment of Managed Markets

Strategic Assessment of Managed Markets (SAMM) is the first disease-based report series offering the information needed to build a bottom-up, city-by-city managed care strategy for individual drug brands. By providing key data on the top 50 metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) and the top 5 health plans within those markets, SAMM offers an in-depth look at the prevalence to drug treated ratios for each MSA, the percent of those untreated who are insured/uninsured, formulary access with the top health plans in the market and how brands are performing compared to the national average.

With this information, pharmaceutical organizations can identify the key players within each regional market and better allocate resources for market growth and best return on investment.

Using this data, we devise differentiated strategies to drive prescription share and increase sales for each key brand in the study through the filters of formulary status and local treatment rates. In coordination with regional performance data, formulary data and managed care environment indicators we can identify markets and managed care organizations of opportunity for key agents. Regional variability in prevalent and treated disease populations can identify markets of opportunity for overall market growth and promotional alignment.

Key Features
For each disease examined, the SAMM reports provide the following:
